Join Winnebago Lutheran Academy for an unforgettable journey through American history and heritage on this 10-day tour to Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Gettysburg, March 12–21, 2026. Travel by deluxe motorcoach as we explore key sites from our nation’s past—including Monticello, Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, Arlington National Cemetery, the U.S. Capitol, the Smithsonian Museums, Fort McHenry, and the Gettysburg Battlefield. All cancellations must be in writing. The date of postmark will

determine the amount of refund due.

Our journey begins as we depart Winnebago Lutheran Academy at 6:30 a.m. aboard a deluxe motorcoach. Please pack your own lunch and bring snacks for the day, as we’ll make only brief stops en route. Upon arrival in Pennsylvania, we’ll enjoy an included dinner at our hotel and settle in for the night at the Drury Inn & Suites Pittsburgh Airport Settlers Ridge.

Friday, March 13, 2026

After a hot breakfast at the hotel, we head to Charlottesville, Virginia, to explore Monticello, the fascinating home of Thomas Jefferson. Following our visit, we continue on to Richmond for dinner and an overnight stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel Richmond.

Saturday, March 14, 2026

We begin the day with breakfast at the hotel, then travel to historic Jamestown for a guided tour of the Jamestown Settlement. In the afternoon, we’ll tour the USS Wisconsin, a retired battleship docked in Norfolk. We end the day in Portsmouth, where we’ll stay overnight at the Quality Inn Olde Town. Dinner will be on your own.

Sunday, March 15, 2026

After breakfast, we attend worship at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Chesapeake (time TBD). Later, we step back in time with a tour of Colonial Williamsburg. We then return to Richmond for the night, with dinner included at the Drury Plaza Hotel.

Monday, March 16, 2026

We begin the day with a hot breakfast before heading to the coast to enjoy some free time at Virginia Beach. We'll stop for an included lunch in Fredericksburg before heading to Washington, D.C. Our first D.C. experience will be a visit to the Holocaust Museum followed by a special evening tour of the city led by a licensed guide. We’ll spend the night at the Comfort Inn in Falls Church, Virginia.

Tuesday, March 17, 2026

After breakfast, our guided D.C. experience continues with a solemn visit to Arlington National Cemetery, including the changing of the guard and wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In the afternoon, we explore the impressive Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. That evening, we’ll enjoy a buffet dinner and the patriotic musical “1776” at Ford’s Dinner Theatre. Overnight at the Comfort Inn in Falls Church.

Wednesday, March 18, 2026

We start the day with a tour of Ford’s Theatre, followed by a visit to the U.S. Capitol and the Library of Congress. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the Smithsonian Museums and iconic monuments around the National Mall. We return for another overnight at the Comfort Inn in Falls Church.

Thursday, March 19, 2026

Following breakfast, we head to Annapolis for a guided tour of the U.S. Naval Academy and enjoy an included lunch in the historic town. Then it’s off to Baltimore to tour Fort McHenry, the birthplace of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” We’ll also drive by Babe Ruth’s birthplace, Camden Yards, Federal Hill, and Harborplace. The evening concludes with an overnight stay at the Best Western in Gettysburg.

Friday, March 20, 2026

After breakfast, we spend the day exploring Gettysburg with a guided tour of the battlefield and National Cemetery. Later, we head west and enjoy an included dinner before spending our final night at the Drury Inn in Pittsburgh, PA.

Saturday, March 21, 2026

We enjoy one last hot breakfast before boarding our coach for the journey home. We’ll travel across Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, returning to Winnebago Lutheran Academy by early evening—hearts full and memories made!

Tom’s Christian Tours exists to provide quality travel experiences in a Christian atmosphere. Tours include devotions, singing, and opportunities for fellowship with old and new friends.
